I have very fond memories of my summers growing up. We (Big Sister Teenie (Lisa), Little Brother Louie and I were very lucky to have my mom, who was a stay at home mom, help make our summers fun (and busy). I think we rarely said we were bored. My mom did not drive BUT we still went to the mall, beach, movie theater, park, swimming, shopping, library and the list goes on. We would always start our summer mornings with swimming lessons. We would take the Free Tram (city bus) from our house to Santa Fe High School pool and when they built the S.F.S Aquatic Center near the City Library and Town Center Hall we would take the bus there. Sometimes we would WALK, yes WALK the 1/2 mile to the pool.
After swimming lessons we would walk next door to the City library where we joined the Summer Book Club, check out books and read for enjoyment.
I THANK my mom for the LOVE of reading. She was and still is a role model for reading. I graduated from CSU, Long Beach with a B.A. in English with an emphasis in Lit. because I wanted to spend my college years reading. My time reading is a luxury these days but I so enjoy it. I hope the kids will enjoy reading as much as I do. So far, it looks like they do. Even Olivia loves to sit and read.
Our summer days were spent filled with fun activities at home or outings to the park, pool, movies, library, or just a walk around the neighborhood.
I want to start our days leading into summer with a Bucket List. This is a list of FUN activities that we would like to do this summer. Luke helped decide how we should spend our summer days.

The boys (Luke and Lauren) have started to work on the bucket list. They are working on the backyard. Our backyard is a work in progress.
We are very blessed to be able to celebrate our second summer in our new home.
